The year 2024 has been a period of strategic transition for LORTEK, marked by a change in General Management. Following a phase of consolidation and growth, Pedro Álvarez Moro has taken the role of General Manager, assuming leadership with a clear commit- ment to strengthen LORTEK as a benchmark in technology transfer, and to enhancing re- cognition of the talent and value brought by its professionals. Pedro Álvarez holds a degree in Chemis- try from the University of the Basque Coun- try (UPV/EHU) and a PhD in Science from the University of Navarra. He began his career at LORTEK in 2007, building an outstanding pro- Pedro Álvarez, General Manager fessional path that led him to work as resear- cher, process manager, head of the joining technologies group, and more recently, Di- rector of Research and Technology Strategy. His appointment reflects a firm commitment to technological excellence, inter-coopera- tion, and strengthening the Basque industrial and innovation ecosystem. This leadership transition also symbolizes LORTEK’s desire to increase its industrial impact and to continue leading, through talent and technology, the challenges of the digital, energy and sustainability transitions. 01 Same Commitment to Innovation I am truly excited to begin this new stage and I take on this challenge with great responsibility.
