MANAGEMENT POLICY

LORTEK S.COOP. is a private non-profit technology centre that generates excellent knowledge in digitalization of manufacturing processes for transfer to industry, thereby improving respective competitiveness and sustainability. We are accredited as an agent of the RVCTI (Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network), a member of the BRTA (Basque Research & Technology Alliance) consortium and a cooperative integrated in the Mondragón Corporation, with a culture of innovation, corporate commitment to gender equality and transparency.

LORTEK S. COOP. has an Integrated Management System based on the requisites of the reference standards UNE 166002 and UNE EN ISO/IEC 17025, with a view to boosting its activity’s competitiveness. It is grounded on the following values:

These values are the ethical principles underpinning the culture of LORTEK S.COOP. They determine our manners of conduct and our ‘way of doing things’, which all people attached to the centre share.

LORTEK S. COOP. establishes this Management Policy as a maximum statement of its position, which is expressed by means of the following general objectives:

Increase the satisfaction of clients and other stakeholders through effective application of the Management System.
Take up the tangible and intangible assets needed to be able to continually maintain and improve the generation of excellent knowledge and successfully transfer it to the industrial sector.
Promote awareness about the importance of effective management, encouraging and motivating all personnel to take part in the organization through team-work, collaboration and communication.
Develop a collaborative strategy that improves relations with relevant stakeholders that can help us enhance our innovation and transfer activities.
Implement effective mechanisms to guarantee impartiality and confidentiality applied to the activity subject to accreditation criteria in accordance with standard UNE EN ISO/IEC 17025 offered to our clients or carried out as part of project development.
Act on the basis of the objectives and principles set out in our compliance policy.

Objectives included in the commitment to comply with applicable requisites, such as those of clients, other stakeholders, regulations, legislation and standards, etc, and for continual improvement of the organization’s efficacy by systematic review within our Management System.

R&D+I POLICY

The LORTEK S.COOP. Research Centre commits to promoting research, development and innovation (R&D+I) as fundamental pillars for scientific and technological progress. Our R&D+I policy is based on the following principles:

Scientific excellence: to promote excellence in research through the development of innovative and high-impact R&D+I projects.
Knowledge transfer: to facilitate the transfer of research results to the production sector and to society in general.
Multidisciplinary collaboration: to promote collaboration among different scientific disciplines to approach complex problems from multiple standpoints.
Training and development: to offer continual training programmes for researchers and technical personnel in order to maintain a high level of competence and stay up to date.
State-of-the-art infrastructure: to invest in the latest infrastructures and equipment to support quality research.
Sustainability: to integrate sustainable practices in all R&D+I activities, minimizing environmental impact.
Ethics and responsibility: to ensure that all research activities are carried out with the highest ethical and social responsibility standards.

This policy is periodically reviewed to guarantee its relevance and effectiveness in a constantly changing scientific environment.

By issuing and approving this Management and R&D+I Policy, I convey to the members of the organization and all other stakeholders my firm support and commitment to the principles contained therein.
