Digital Inspection

To implement an inspection system for thermocouples and magnetic groups in Orkli’s Gas Safety range, critical components that require rigorous quality control. Traditionally, this inspection was performed visually by operators, a labor-intensive process due to the small size of the parts and the high production volume.

Digitalisation of a tube manufacturing line for product quality monitoring and improvement. Key process variables such as temperature and forming pressure will be obtained. The quality of the current sensor system will be assessed and additional sensors for deeper understanding will be considered. Data will be integrated into a digital platform for real-time monitoring and history log access. This project will facilitate the identification of manufacturing patterns, detecting improvements and accurate process optimisation.

The project aims to develop a swift, reliable human-oriented quality control solution for timely defect detection in composite processes. It determines in-situ corrective actions, striving for a zero-defect LRI manufacturing process, reducing polymer composites waste. Results will be tested and demonstrated in two industrial cases (yacht part and wing box).

The AIRISE project empowers European SMEs in adopting edge-based AI for manufacturing, targeting waste and carbon reduction. The consortium establishes an ecosystem connecting SMEs with AI experts, Digital Innovation Hubs, and commercial entities. Open Calls facilitate access to AI competence for over 500 SMEs, supporting pilot applications. Security and connectivity are bolstered by external resources in cybersecurity and IoT, while smart working environments benefit from operator interfaces and collaborative robots.
