Scope

The project aimed to develop a new advanced manufacturing route for the design and production of LEADING’s EPS2 meter, combining hybrid additive manufacturing with processes such as casting and CNC machining. The goal was to optimize the performance and functionality of the components within the energy and petrochemical sectors.

Solution

Lortek led the development of a hybrid solution that incorporated the manufacturing of a multimaterial pipe section, using superduplex stainless steel for the interior and austenitic stainless steel for the exterior, all built on a cast body. Additionally, a multimaterial flange was designed for the EPS2 meter. This process was validated through a technical feasibility study and the manufacturing of a functional meter demonstrator, ensuring compliance with the strict regulations required in the energy and Oil & Gas sectors.
